Boston, Mass. (November 8th, 2011) — More than 200 business executives, professionals and entrepreneurs of diverse cultures and across multiple industries and sectors will attend Get Konnected! on Tuesday, November 29th at the Taj Boston (15 Arlington St., Boston) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This month’s event kicks off the holiday season with two special guests – former Senior Advisor and COO of the Obama ‘08 Campaign Betsy Myers, author of a new book on leadership called Take the Lead: Motivate, Inspire, and Bring Out the Best in Yourself and Everyone Around You and Juliette Mayers author of another new book A Black Woman’s Guide to Networking: Advance Your Career. Grow Your Business!

Recently named the “Best Multicultural Event in Boston,” by El Planeta newspaper, Get Konnected! is Boston’s first and only bi-monthly professional and business networking event for professionals of all cultures.

BETSY MYERS
Betsy Myers is currently speaking and leading workshops around the world on the changing nature of leadership. In addition, she is on a nationwide tour speaking about her new book, Take the Lead: Motivate, Inspire, and Bring Out the Best in Yourself and Everyone Around You, which was released in September 2011. Betsy has deep experience in the corporate, political and higher education arenas. She served as a senior adviser to Barack Obama’s Presidential Campaign. In January 2007, she took on the role of Obama’s Chief Operating Officer tasked with the challenge of building a $100,000,000 organization and establishing a business operational model and customer service mentality for the campaign. Connecting with women voters around the country, Betsy also served as the Chair of Women for Obama and traveled extensively speaking to undecided voters before the election. She spent a significant amount of time working on unity efforts — meeting with Clinton supporters, hearing their concerns and inviting them to join the Obama campaign.

JULIETTE MAYERS
Juliette Mayers, an award winning business executive from Boston, has written “A Black Woman’s Guide to Networking: Advance Your Career. This inspirational book is for black professional women and others who are open to building cross-cultural relationships that can be readily applied as they strive to excel in today’s global culturally diverse marketplace. Author Juliette Mayers is Executive Director of Multicultural Marketing at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. She is an award-winning executive, business strategist, and a passionate community advocate. Massachusetts Governor, Deval Patrick appointed her to the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board, a state-wide policy making board that advises the governor on workforce investment. A native of Barbados, West Indies, Juliette is married to her husband of twenty years, Darryl Mayers and resides in the greater Boston area with the couple’s two teen daughters, D’Anna and Danielle.
