Primary Duties: The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Enterprise, Major, & Cyber Crimes Division and the State Police Detective’s Unit in the Boston Office. Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining files; scheduling meetings and appointments; systematically archiving materials; drafting and proofreading routine and confidential correspondence; preparing grand jury and trial subpoenas, discovery materials, court activity reports, weekly MSP detailed overtime reports, weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, and other legal documents; updating case status information on the case management database; maintaining legal case files; processing citizen complaints; tracking various intakes from the general public and referrals from other state agencies; assisting with special projects; providing general office assistance, and other duties as required. The Administrative Assistant is also responsible for greeting members of the public, screening complaints, and providing assistance or information.
Position Requirements: A bachelor’s or associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of related education and/or prior administrative experience is required. Applicants must possess strong word processing and computer skills, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to pay close attention to detail, and effective, professional verbal and written communication skills. Must be a selfstarter and possess the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making. Confidentiality and a high level of professionalism are necessary. Must be able to work as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve, and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
