Primary Duties: (1) Monitoring and reporting on trends related to the cost and quality of health care in Massachusetts, and (2) investigating and litigating consumer protection cases involving health insurers, health care providers, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers, including matters related to the opioid epidemic. The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for all aspects of case development, discovery, and final resolution through settlement or litigation. Attorneys in the Division may also be called on to (a) address legal questions relating to state and federal health rules and regulations, (b) assist consumers with health care questions or concerns, and (c) work with Assistant Attorneys General from other states to examine multi-state conduct.
Position Qualifications:Applicants must have at least three years of litigation, health law, or health
policy experience, as well as effective writing, legal-analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills, and
the ability to quickly grasp complex business and financial arrangements. We seek an individual who
can work both independently and as part of a close-knit team and is committed to practicing law in the
public interest. Strong quantitative and data analysis skills preferred. Must be a member of the
Massachusetts bar or pending admission to the Massachusetts bar. The successful candidate will be
able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve, and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Salary: Salary is based on JD year and experience.
