Compensation Analyst I

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Annual Compensation Processes

  • Assist in administering the various annual compensation processes in the HCMS system (Oracle HCM Cloud)
  • Test and validate the compensation module following system patches and upgrades, and prior to compensation cycle launches; ensure all aspects of the processes are working as intended
  • Create and maintain master process review (Excel) worksheets, assist in preparation of final materials for review by HR Business Partners and Management
  • Support HR Business Partners by providing custom reporting as needed
  • Act as a point of contact for HR Business Partner and Manager questions
  • Continuously build working knowledge of the HCMS system through training and keeping abreast of product upgrades

Maintenance of Market Data Aggregator (CompAnalyst)

  • Upload and maintain Employee & Company data in the application
  • Review and maintain survey job matches to ensure accuracy of benchmark data
  • Upload and validate salary survey data annually
  • Administer all ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Build a strong working knowledge of the CompAnalyst application and recommend utilization of enhancements

HCMS/Compensation Reporting

  • Maintain compensation information in HCMS system; establish an audit cadence to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Create and run reports using the HCMS system to support compensation program administration and assist with other HR reporting needs

Salary Surveys

  • Compile, validate, and submit data for annual and ad-hoc compensation surveys
  • Participate in trainings and gain overall knowledge of the analytics and services made available by our compensation survey vendors

Talent Acquisition Compensation Support & Approvals

  • Assist in providing compensation support for all non-high-volume job offers, ensuring internal and external equity in accordance with the Massachusetts Equal Pay Act (MEPA)
  • Update reports and data used by TA annually and on an as needed basis

Equity Administration (effective late-2021/early 2022)

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of new equity administration system
  • Support data entry and auditing of equity grants
  • Assist with participant inquiries regarding equity compensation plan
  • Support data requirements for internal departments (legal, finance)

Annual Salary Structure and Market Position Review

  • Assist in annual evaluation of Eastern’s market competitiveness by providing accurate market data from Comp Analyst
  • Help with the compilations of data for the annual salary budget and salary structure market data, utilizing data from various compensation survey results

Other

  • Recommend opportunities for process improvement
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in compensation, equity plan administration or HRIS preferred

Skills/Knowledge

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (must be proficient with large data sets in Excel)
  • Demonstrated proficiency accessing data in robust HRIS applications, preferably Oracle or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to identify non-routine situations and exceptions and apply effective problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan, prioritize and organize work while managing many priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to details skills
  • Excellent work ethic and strong sense of urgency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated integrity, respect, and effectiveness in interactions
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills, effective team member and builder of productive working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace change
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is required
  • Experience and interest in Compensation, Human Resources or Finance preferred
  • Experience administering employee data and/or working with Human Resources business systems in an HR environment preferred
